DEADLINES ARE DEADLY...

Guidelines in writing a technical essay:

1. Discuss and critique the technical aspects of the movie you have watched. For example:

  • The editing techniques used - what are they, how are these significant in scene transition and flow, etc.
  • The predominant lighting used in the film and how it affects the mood of each scene.
  • The production design and how it describes the theme.
  • The camera work or cinematography - what camera angles, shots and movements were predominantly used in the movie that made it effective.
2. Talk about the significance of the work of the people behind the scenes and how they were able to help the actors in portraying their roles effectively. Identify flaws also if you see any.

3. Talk about other technical aspects that you think are significant in making the film aesthetically pleasing to the audience and suggest some ideas in the flaws that you have identified.

Extended Deadlines for MC350

As what I have announced last Friday evening, all deadlines for MC350 short films are extended. So here's the new list of deadlines for you to follow: (I'm giving you one more weekend to cram your hearts out)

10 - 15 Minute Short Film and Poster:

Tuesday and Wednesday Class - October 10, 2016
Thursday and Friday Class - October 11, 2016

Trailers have to be submitted this week during our last meeting because I expect that you have footages to work with already. Make the most out of your time in the lab during our last meeting. I will give my final lecture for everyone so attendance is a must. You are to submit your short films to me personally on those dates indicated above. I will be in the lab during that time starting at 2:30 pm. And as what I always remind all of you, DEADLINES ARE DEADLY.

As for our special viewing during the exam week, here is the schedule:

Tuesday Class - October 12, 2016 @ 2 - 4 pm
Wednesday and Friday Class  (IDS Classes) - October 11, 2016 @ 2 - 4 pm
Thursday Class - October 12, 2016 @ 12 noon - 2 pm

This special viewing of all your short films for the pre-finals is considered as your EXAM. If you won't attend, I will deduct big points from your grades (believe me I will). Bring popcorn or chips.

Script Revisions should be submitted here: (this is for all classes)
